I am Prof. Dr. Pınar Yalınay Dikmen, a neurologist practicing since 2000 with a dedicated clinical focus on headache medicine, migraine, and vestibular (dizziness-related) disorders. After graduating from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine, I completed my residency in Neurology. I then pursued a Master’s degree in Electrophysiology at the Institute of Experimental Medicine (DETAE), which enabled me to develop a comprehensive clinical perspective that includes not only the brain but also the peripheral nervous system. This dual focus has strengthened my ability to evaluate and manage a broad spectrum of neurological conditions.

Since the establishment of Acıbadem University School of Medicine in 2007, I have been a faculty member in the Department of Neurology, contributing to both education and research. My long-standing interest in headache disorders has led me to engage actively in national and international scientific communities. As a European Board–Certified neurologist with a particular expertise in headache medicine, I have conducted numerous studies on migraine, other headache disorders, and electrophysiology. I have authored more than 50 international scientific publications and delivered many presentations at national and international congresses. My research, especially in migraine, has helped inform and shape contemporary clinical practice.

Empathy and communication are at the core of my medical philosophy. Headache and dizziness are not merely physical symptoms; they are complex conditions that profoundly affect quality of life, emotional well-being, daily functioning, and social relationships. For this reason, I listen to my patients with the aim of understanding not only their symptoms but also their lifestyle, stress factors, routines, and personal challenges. My goal is always to identify the underlying mechanisms, determine triggers, and design truly individualized treatment plans that fit each patient’s unique life rhythm.

I view the treatment process as a collaborative journey—one that is guided by science, grounded in trust, and shaped by shared understanding. For me, every patient represents far more than a diagnosis; each is the author of a story that deserves to be heard with attention and respect.
